Gernsheim ist ein netter kleiner Ort am Rhein mit guten Restaurants und gemütlichen Kneipen. Ein vielfältiges Netz von Rad- und Wanderwegen laden zur Erkundung der Umgebung ein. Die Rheinpromenade oder der Wallfahrtsort Maria Einsiedel sind zu jeder Jahreszeit ein attraktives Ziel. Die zentrale Lage in Südhessen ermöglicht schöne Tagesausflüge an die nahe Bergstaße mit ihren Weinbergen und Burgen, den Odenwald, Heidelberg, Wiesbaden oder Frankfurt.

Das durch die Fähre schnell erreichbare Rheinland-Pfalz bietet ebenfalls eine Reihe interessanter Ausflugsziele, zum Beispiel die Nibelungenstadt Worms, Oppenheim mit seiner historischen Altstadt und seinem Kellerlabyrinth, sowie die Landeshauptstadt Mainz. Ebenfalls empfehlenswert sind Ausflüge an den Mittelrhein (UNESCO Welterbe) und in den Rheingau.

Gernsheim is a nice little town located at the river Rhine, with decent restaurants and cosy pubs. A great variety of cycling and hiking paths offer excursions in the nearby countryside. The Rhine riverwalk and the pilgrimage church Maria Einsiedel are at every time of the year beautiful places to visit. Its central location in southern Hesse enables you to visit many places nearby, such as the Bergstraße with its vinyards and castles, the hilly Odenwald, Heidelberg, Wiesbaden or Frankfurt.

Rhineland Palatinate can easily be reached by the local ferry across the Rhine and also offers a number of interesting travel sites, such as Worms, the city of the Nibelungen, Oppenheim with its historical city centre and the cave maze and the capital Mayence. We also recommend trips to the Middle Rhine (UNESCO World Heritage) and the Rheingau, a famous wine growing area. We will support you to visit all the nice places in our arear!
